Digital administration in Rome
Our solutions and technologies meet Roma Capitale. We accompany the Authority in its technological evolution and in the renewal of processes through various projects, contributing substantially to rationalising the workflows of the entire administrative machine. Among these, we supported the Authority in the renewal of management processes and in the digital transformation of the Accounting and Internal Control System of Rome’s 15 Municipalities, with an audience of 600 potential key users.
Rome, the capital of digital payment
Since the 2000s, Rome’s administration has been a pioneer in offering digital services to its citizens. A strategic activity, which is now more relevant than ever, given Rome’s adhesion to the innovation plan and to the Italian Digital Agenda, and considering the growing need for a modern, simple and multi-device interaction between citizens and the public administration.
Municipality of Milan: digital payment of the TARI (Waste Tax)
Digital Transformation is changing the relationship between citizens and public bodies, reducing distance and making interaction more streamlined and efficient. Our company plays a key role in this change and has been chosen by the Municipality of Milan to provide the tools and procedures required for an effective management of the TARI (Waste Tax) payment made by citizens, guaranteeing integration on the PagoPA channel (the payment hub by AGID – Agency for Digital Italy).
Rimini Chatbot: a Digital Assistant at the service of the citizen
The solution involves the integration of a Digital Assistant within the institutional page of the Municipality of Rimini and the Riminiturismo page. The main functionality implemented is the orientation and information support to the user for the immediate and direct resolution of their information needs on all public and tourist services managed by the municipal administration. Through conversational interfaces in natural language, the system interprets the needs expressed and always guarantees a response.
Participatory budgeting: new technologies to give a voice to Bologna’s citizens
Bologna has a lengthy tradition in the field of civic activism and over the last 15 years the city has developed a broad range of initiatives, actions and policies to engage citizens in co-design activities for the development of the city and the search for a positive impact in the social, economic, cultural and environmental fields. The digital transformation of the Municipality of Bologna has been able to further facilitate this participatory process and our company has played a fundamental role in enabling this transition.
Mobility
T-Systems: smart parking in Germany
Among the collaborations that exist with multinational companies, there is the one with T-Systems, of the Deutsche Telekom group, one of the leading IT companies in Europe. T-Systems’ goal was to create a 100% digital solution to manage the entire parking process, from finding a parking space, to booking and paying: Park and Joy, now operating in about 50 German cities.
MyPaaS: Mobility as a Service
A new mobility model in which users’ needs are met by a single integrated service provider that combines transport infrastructures, travel information and payment services. Municipia – Engineering Group has tested some MaaS solutions through two pilot sites: Cagliari and Naples. The ambition is to contribute to the improvement of urban mobility and sustainability.
City of Pisa: state-of-the-art smart mobility
Pisa takes on the role of smart city with a single platform for city mobility which digitises existing processes and creates new web and mobile contact points with citizens and new services such as smart parking.
Verona: urban mobility according to law
We have put our expertise and technology at the service of the Municipality of Verona, to support it for well-defined needs: to check compliance with the rules regarding the length of stay of the vehicles used to load and unload goods in the ZTL (traffic-restricted) areas; to definitively solve the problem of counterfeiting the European Disability Unified Pass, and to improve the effectiveness of roadside checks through new and more effective tools; to automate the access and control procedure of vehicles with disabled people on board in the ZTL (traffic-restricted) areas to reduce the workload at the counter.
Veronamercato: an innovative and efficient logistics system
Veronamercato S.p.A. is one of the Italian agri-food hubs most avant-garde and projected towards international trade. Coordinating these flows requires an effective and efficient control system, capable of optimising vehicle access and of guaranteeing high safety standards, as well as simplifying services for logistics operators.
Naples: a new urban mobility
Managing urban mobility in metropolitan areas requires advanced means and skills. An exemplary case is that of Naples, the leading city in Italy in terms of population density, with an area which includes 92 municipalities and tens of thousands of cars passing through every day. Such complexity often leads to inefficiencies and inconvenience to citizens. To counteract all this, the Azienda Napoletana Mobilità S.p.A. decided to focus on INES Cloud, a platform that allows the integration of hardware and software technologies in order to facilitate the management of urban mobility processes and services.
Florence: city of art and smart mobility
To simplify and improve the management of city mobility, by digitising and integrating the processes, systems and related services. With this goal, we supported the Municipal Administration of Florence with INES Cloud, the platform used by many cities in Italy and abroad for a unified management of urban mobility and parking.
Lucca: eco-sustainable urban logistics
Is it possible to make urban logistics virtuous and eco-sustainable in small and medium-sized historic centres? The example of Lucca, the leading Italian Municipality – together with Zara and Stockholm – of the European project Life Aspire of which Kiunsys/Municipia S.p.A. is the technological partner. The goal is to ensure that freight transport is compatible with the historical and urban layout of the city in order to improve the lives of citizens as a result.
Monza: integration and automation of the management and control of permits for the disabled
The Municipality of Monza needed to fight the phenomenon of counterfeiting and improper use of parking and mobility permits reserved for disabled people. The permit checks carried out by the roadside inspection staff took a long time without, however, being totally effective. In addition to road control, Monza hypothesised that it could also automate the access control to the ZTL (traffic-restricted) areas and to the preferential traffic lanes by disabled people.
Energy efficiency
In Sicily, lighting becomes smart
Innovating cities to help reduce their energy consumption, reduce pollution, free up economic resources and provide information and innovative services via mobile devices to citizens and businesses. This commitment involves the installation of several state-of-the-art physical components and software applications in order to receive, monitor and remotely manage all information. In addition to building automation and building safety, there is the efficiency of public lighting to optimise costs and energy waste. After a beta test held in Frankfurt, the Smart Lighting project carried out by Municipia involves a group of municipalities in Sicily.
Culture and tourism
Smart city: Virtual Urban Museum
Each city is made unique by its history, its riches, its traditions, peculiarities which can be fully understood by living there, but whose value is difficult to convey to the tourist who observes it from the outside. In response to this, we at Municipia were able to directly support a well-known Italian city to create meaningful tourist routes capable of enhancing its historic centre, the museums of international significance, its landscape, nature and its food and wine.
Local economy
Business support, Bologna focuses on data analysis
The Municipality of Bologna has invested in innovative technologies to support local businesses. The project consists of an interactive platform which makes data from InfoCamere, the Regional Labour Agency and the Municipal Administration available online, allowing them to be analysed for better management of the services offered to the businesses and professionals operating locally. The system paves the way for a full electronic file dedicated to every local business to be prepared in the future. The purpose of all this is to enable rapid evaluations of economic developments and the impact generated by specific events, first and foremost the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to provide an adequate response for Bologna’s businesses as quickly as possible.
